Sound Meditation + Heart Opening for Alchemical Healing
“The Heart is the emperor, the supreme controller. The Heart is the fire at the center of our being, from which the spirit radiates.”
-Neijing Suwen (Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine)
In the interest of healing, I weave into my sound bath experience moments when sounds will challenge your peace. In traditional east asian medicine we "dredge" channels to move energy. Dredging is bringing to the surface what has been buried and has become "stuck." With the stark resonance of a gong or a disorienting binaural wave pattern, I seek to "dredge" feelings, energies, thoughts and emotions. In this way, you can sit with what comes up and needs to be processed.
This is why I instruct: Greet all thoughts and sensations with an open heart.
A Meditation for Back Pain by Alessandra Young
A Meditation for Rehabilitating Your Back by Alessandra Young
You can heal your back pain with a simple seated meditation - in conjunction with other interventions, of course
When I’m working with a "chronic recurrent” back pain patient, one of the first things that I am curious about is their postural alignment throughout the day. Of particular importance are the types of chairs they use, length of time sitting, and the activities performed while seated.
Many of us have poor postural habits while sitting and this contributes to spinal compression and pain. I use a kneeling chair to help maintain good posture while I sit at work and recommend this type of chair for all of my spinal pain patients. Taller people may find greater comfort using a large sitting ball due to limitations in the chair design.

Treat Acne with Cosmetic Acupuncture in Salt Lake City
Cosmetic Acupuncture is an ancient beauty practice used since the Song Dynasty 960AD. Emperors and Empresses used it in ancient times as part of their beauty and health regimen. It remains a standard method of treatment in East Asian countries and is integrated into their health practices.
Acupuncture needles stimulate facial tissue and increase circulation to your skin. This increased blood flow speeds healing white blood cells, oxygen and nutrients to problem areas while also reducing inflammation and redness. The increased oxygenation repairs skin cells. Acupuncture improves vitality, circulation, and detoxification and this is how it is often able to improve skin condition.

Weight Gain in Menopause Part 1: Causes of a Slow Metabolism and How Acupuncture Can Help Your Metabolism
There are many reasons why a person begins to gain weight and lose the capacity to shed fat. The two common causes that I see in my clinic are (1) a sluggish metabolism and (2) an unhealthy relationship to food.
As women age and shift into menopause, we can expect our metabolism to change along with the decline in our Estradiol estrogen level.
