Easy Morning Routine to Improve Your Mood

Start your day with positivity and allow the first thought - or the first thing that you read - be something uplifting and inspiring of your highest self. My daily alarm is programmed with this instruction from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama:
“Today I am fortunate to have woken up. I am alive. I have a precious human life. I am not going to waste it . I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others. I am not going to be angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”
Or create a mantra that reflects an aspect of your journey that you are focused on transforming. Here are a few ideas:
“I am capable. I am kind. I am learning.”
“Every thing this day brings is a gift that I will receive with my full heart.”
“Everything through all of space and time conspired to make my life a reality. I will greet all opportunities with humbleness and a sense of awe - isn’t it amazing!”
“Today I will make mistakes and love myself regardless.”

Wake Up the Gut
Before you sleep, prepare an 12 oz glass of water with one small lemon that has been washed and sliced with the skin on. Allow the lemon to sit in the water over night. Drink it first thing in the morning to rehydrate and prepare your gut for the good work ahead. Eat warm foods. Eat fresh whole foods. Eat slowly.

But if you aren’t interested in Qi Gong then a walk around the neighborhood is a nice way to move your Qi too.
